GiveBIG Campaign to Stand Up for Immigrants in 2025

GiveBIG has become a great annual tradition to support non-profit organizations in Washington State. The early giving period is now underway and culminates on May 6-7. Last year, GiveBIG donors and sponsors raised $11.5 million for 1,518 nonprofit organizations across Washington State. All nonprofit organizations that are based in or serve Washington can join the statewide campaign that activates donors everywhere to get that GIVING feeling!

Advocates for Immigrants in Detention Northwest (AIDNW) has been serving immigrants detained in and released from the NW ICE Processing Center for over 15 years. Your GiveBIG donation to our non-profit organization supports a shared vision of being a welcoming community that affirms the dignity of all immigrants.

AIDNW is 100% funded by individual donations and, occasionally, grant funds, so donations of any size are a big help How? During 2024, our generous community of donors helped us provide these vital services:

  • Deposited money into the phone accounts of 1,187 immigrants detained at the NW ICE Processing Center – at $20 each, that totaled $23,740
  • Organized 159 visits to detained immigrants, and we plan to multiply that several times this year with the dramatic increase of immigrants in the detention center
  • Served 528 immigrants at our mobile Welcome Center as they were released onto the street in front of the detention center
  • Provided 107 warm coats and 244 backpacks to newly released immigrants
  • Gave 283 immigrants rides to the airport and to other community service centers

We are extremely proud and grateful for what you helped us achieve in 2024. By donating to the GiveBIG Campaign, you can help ensure that we increase these numbers and help even more people in 2025. Thank you for joining us in supporting immigrants in detention, at our Welcome Center, and beyond.
