Pedro from Venezuela

Pedro left AIDNW this letter along with a video recording giving thanks for the welcome he received after his long journey to the US from Venezuela:

“I left Venezuela on the 21st of December in 2021 and I entered the United States on the 25th of the same month, where I endured a difficult and complicated process of detention. These haven’t been the best days of my life, but at this moment I find myself very grateful towards all the wonderful people who have helped me. Their grace is like that of an angel that God has placed in my life.

In these moments of freedom from immigration detention and suffering in my home country, I find myself liberated and waiting to be reunited once again with my wife, from whom I was separated after crossing the border. I am also thankful to the person who donated the plane ticket for my trip to our sponsor family. I am especially thankful to AIDNW’s manager, Deborah Cruz, and her assistant, Frankling Mercado, who have both helped me in confusing times.

AIDNW gave me a place to stay and meals at their hospitality house for arriving immigrants. For me, this is a wonderful moment of freedom and hope, and I will be eternally thankful to AIDNW and to their generous staff and volunteers who have helped me.”
